Steven van Vessum

Steve is the co-founder and VP of Community at ContentKing. With more than 15+ years of experience, he is responsible for ContentKing’s overall content marketing and outreach efforts, including serving as the SEO community liaison.

Steven’s career in SEO began in 2006. Since then, he’s been on every side of the industry: the client side, agency side, and vendor side. His previous experience includes working for an IT strategy consulting firm, a search engine marketing agency, and then ran his own digital marketing agency along with ContentKing co-founder Vincent van Scherpenseel.

Having a profound love for everything SEO, Steve has become an expert in the field. He’s a VIP Contributor at Search Engine Journal and a speaker at BrightonSEO, WebExpo, Digital Olympus, and meetups such as SearchNorwich, ReadingSEO Meetup, and BristolSEO.

In his role at ContentKing, he leverages his vast amount of knowledge and experience to help improve online visibility and grow our customer base. You’ll find his work throughout our website in Academy Articles, FAQs, and community events. It’s his goal to take SEO topics into something that’s easy to grasp, no matter the skill level.

Based out of the Amsterdam office, Steve calls the Netherlands home. And true to his Dutch roots, he loves baking pancakes and going to the forest with his wife and two children.
