VP of Engineering

We're looking for an experienced agile team player to become our VP of Engineering to lead and mentor our engineers, hire new top talent and prepare the company for further growth.

Our Engineering Team

As a VP of Engineering, you’re not only a great manager and communicator, you’re also able to strategically build a team around you.

In this role, you’ll lead our engineering team in Brno (CZ), currently consisting of 7 engineers across Backend, Frontend, DevOps and SRE domains. Your experience and leadership will be utilized to grow and assist the team by sharing knowledge and experience.

Furthermore, you'll vet and integrate technologies, source new opportunities for improvement, and set up processes for ongoing value delivery, QA and security certification.

Growing And Expanding the Engineering Team

ContentKing is rapidly growing, and this includes the Engineering team. As the VP of Engineering, you'll be responsible for defining our recruitment needs, setting plans and goals, and selecting and hiring top talent. This includes participating in the onboarding process, and personally making sure every team member is taken care of from their very first day.

To Delivery And Beyond

For this role, you will apply the vision and business value of our company and transform it into a implementable technical roadmap.

This will involve balancing the speed of delivery with the required quality levels, through optimizing engineering processes, ensuring top performance, removing roadblocks and supporting the team in any way possible. You'll work closely together with Product Management to further expand our industry-leading software.

Requirements

We are looking for a colleague who feel comfortable challenged by the above description and meets the following requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in agile software engineering
  • Strong organizational leadership skills
  • Experience in engineering leadership
  • Experience in recruiting of engineering roles
  • Fluent or Native English

Our Interview Process

The interview process consists of three steps:

  1. First interview, introductory interview
    The purpose of this interview (approximately 60 minutes) is to get to know each other’s backgrounds and experience, and see if there's a fit from both sides.   2. Second interview, in-depth experience review
    In the second interview (approximately 90 minutes) we go in-depth, discussing your career path, interests and where you would like to develop. We will also make sure to leave plenty of time for you to ask all the questions you have for us.

  3. Third interview, focus interview
    In the third and final interview (approximately 90 minutes) we zoom in on specifics that were brought to light in the second interview. Finally, we will also discuss the contractual details and compensation package.
